Baking Away

Ever since Jeff gave me my new mixer for Christmas, I've caught the baking bug. It's a shame since I can't eat most of it, but I'm sure my father - in - law appreciates it! Most of these recipes are my first attempts, so don't judge the way they look!

My Best Friends

What can I say about JoAnna and Sarah? They're my best friends. I think the older I get and the more I drift away from those that I thought would be there forever, the more I realize just how precious these two are.

JoAnna and I went to the same high school and graduated in the same class. We didn't actually get to know one another until we enrolled in the same English class at the good ol' Lassen Community College. After that we were inseperable. When I sit and think about the crazy trips we took to Reno, I cringe. We spent most of our late teens and early twenties hitting one party after another. There was a lot of studying in there too, but also a few dumb boys, and nights of mischief. I lost touch with her there for a while, I suppose that's what happens when work schedules are crazy and babies are added into the mix. We've both done a lot of growing up in the last few years and I'm proud to call Deputy Costa one of my bests!

Sarah is just a genuine person. She's beautiful from the inside out and I don't think there's a mean bone in her body. I couldn't have asked for a better Maid of Honor. She organized a wonderful bridal shower, and sat with me while I bitched about some stupid wedding etiquette or a mean consultant at David's Bridal. After we came home from our honeymoon our house was spotless! She even dedicated this last summer to helping me paint my new house. She's living in Chico right now, studying to be a nurse. I'm secretly hoping that when she's done she'll come back to Susanville. I really miss my Sarah time during the semesters.

There was really no point to this blog and no 'inspiring' message. I just wanted to highlight some very important people in my life. They're the best friends a girl could have. They've seen me on my best and worst days and they still love me! What more could I ask for in my friends?

Hip Troubles

Way back in the day when I was working for Walmart I started having a numbing, slightly painful sensation in my hip. It started on my left hip and eventually made its way down my left leg. It wasn’t painful, just very annoying.

I went to the chiropractor once, got adjusted and felt fine after that.

Now it is back with a vengeance. It started on Friday and it has progressively gotten worse. The numbness is actually shooting down into the bottom of my foot now.

So, after two restless nights, off to the chiropractor I went and he gave me an adjustment. I heard three loud pops from my left hip and now I’m hoping for some relief. It’s always unnerving to have that guy twisting on my body to try and get certain joints to pop. They tell you to relax, but how are you supposed to relax when your body is being twisted into the shape of a pretzel by a complete stranger?
